CM Kamal Nath meetings with top industrialists begin in Davos

Better environment and friendly policies for Global Investment in MP
BHOPAL. The Chief Minister Kamal Nath reached Davos Yesterday to participate in the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum. Besides participating in the meeting during his 4 day tour, Kamal Nath will meet the top industrialists as regard to the investment in Madhya Pradesh. Immediately after reaching Davos, he started holding one to one meetings with the industrialists. Informing about the investors friendly policies during one to one interaction, Kamal Nath said that Madhya Pradesh has better environment for global investment and suitable policies have been made in the state. Today one-to-one talks between Chief Minister Kamal Nath and Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra Group, Shri Pawan Goenka during the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 21, possibilities of investment in automobile, agricultural equipments, irrigation and agro-chemical sectors in Madhya Pradesh were discussed.

The Chief Minister also discussed about the operation of logistics hub and creation of IT delivery centre in the state. Investments in manufacturing units for electric vehicles, passenger cars and commercial vehicles were also discussed during the meeting. It may be noted that the Chief Minister is on a four-day visit to Davos in connection with the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum. Shri Kamal Nath is accompanied by a high level team of senior officers of the state also.

Immediately after reaching Davos in the afternoon, Shri Kamal Nath met top industrialists. The Chief Minister met Chairman and CEO of MKS Company Shri Marwan Shakarchi at Bilateral 1.4 Congress centre. Chief Minister Kamal Nath met Lars Fruergaard Jorgensen, President and CEO of Novo Nordisk. Novo Nordisk is a global healthcare service company specializing in pharmaceutical products. The company has its headquarters in Denmark and has units in 79 countries. The company distributes its products in more than 170 countries. The Chief Minister informed Shri Jorgensen about the better scope of investment in Pharmaceutical sector in Madhya Pradesh. Shri Nath said that due to its central location in India, an ideal situation exists in the state for the pharma unit. Being at the centre, 50 percent of the country population is connected to Madhya Pradesh through road and other means of transport.

Managing Director of Mahindra Group, Pawan Goenka also called on the Chief Minister. Nath met Rahul Bajaj and Sanjeev Bajaj of Bajaj Group at night. Chief Minister discussed with industrialists regarding reforms in policies and investment-friendly decisions taken in 2019 to accelerate industrialization in Madhya Pradesh. Kamal Nath also attended the dinner hosted by CII, WSJ PMI. 

A high level delegation led by Chief Secretary S.R. Mohanty is also participating in the four-day Davos visit of the Chief Minister. The delegation includes Additional Chief Secretary Energy Department Mohammad Suleman, Principal Secretary Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Dr. Rajesh Rajora, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Ashok Varnawal, Secretary Tourism Department  Faiz Ahmed Kidwai and Managing Director Madhya Pradesh Industries Development Corporation Vivek Porwal.
